New favorite teas from Mighty Leaf
Monday, December 13, 2010 at 21:32 Since the weather has gotten rather ‘winter-like’ I’m raiding the tea caddy morning, noon and night it seems. I have certain teas that seem to work for different times of day, however.
During the day, I really love the stronger, brighter tasting black teas with just enough caffeine for a bit of a jolt, but not the acid and jitters that builds up from too much coffee. The Mighty Leaf Celebration is perfect as a step down from your favorite coffee, with notes of Chinese fruit and chocolate - ooops, there I go again with the chocolate thing. I also love the Vanilla Bean and Orange Dulce.
Later in the day, or right after dinner, I really prefer something that cleanses the palate. In this case, I’m right into the Mighty Leaf Green Tea Tropical. Green Tea Tropical seemed to disappear out of my desk drawer at work, in the late afternoon. Hmmmm. Albert? This is soooo smooth, without some of the more ‘in your face’ intense grassy qualities of other green teas. I like that but others find it off-putting. This Tropical Green Tea is great for people who don’t think they like green tea.
Late at night, I want something mellow, and the Mighty Leaf Chocolate Mint Truffle does the trick. It’s the perfect de-caffeinated tea that allows you to wind down while really feeling like you’re treating yourself to something special. It’s made with South African Rooibos leaves, cocoa nibs and mint. This tea is so perfectly balanced and velvety smooth that it’s like your favorite fluffy robe and sox.
Mighty Leaf has other chocolate teas, including a Mayan Chocolate Truffle, Chocolate Chip Truffle, Chocolate Orange Truffle and the ultra rich and decadant Mocha Truffle Pu-erh.
