A perfect 'cooking dinner' sip: Fat Bastard Chardonnay

I love to have a great glass of wine next to me while I dabble at the cook station in the evening. Between all the prepping, stirring, sauteeing and tasting, a wine like this is rather like having an old, familiar friend by your side - they’re going to be supportive, listen well and not a ‘vampire’ at the end of your busy day. Some friends suck more energy out of you than they’re worth.
This wine is so accessible, and is everything I still love about Chardonnay.
It’s not an oakey Chard. Too many Chards got all carried away with the oak - I think in reality it was to make up for lack of craft. This wine is so perfectly balanced and well behaved that it would be a sin not to have several bottles in your chiller.
Golden yellow with pale-green tints. Expressive stone-fruit aromas with soft floral undertones. Lightly Toasty on the bouquet. Well-balanced, round and persistant, with citrus and acacia notes. Soft oak gives warmth and balance to a full round mid palate. Fresh minerality on the finish. Perfect with eggs, cheeses, shrimp - or just to enjoy alone.
From starting nose to long. long finish - this wine will not disappoint, offering something wonderful at each stage. - maven
