Mushroom Galette: It doesn't get more perfect
Monday, May 24, 2010 at 19:23 I have to admit it. I’m also a ‘biter’ when it comes to food. And, I’m not just talking about the physical act of eating. Those who love me, in spite of it all, will tell you - with wry smiles - that Maven is just a tad fussy. Picky? No, that’s not it. Impossible to please. That’s more like it, when it comes to food.
I’m impossible to please.
I can find the fatal flaw in the food. “The bottom crust was soggy. Too much salt. Canned broth! No, it’s not spicy, it’s all ‘heat’ and no ‘flavor’. One dimensional. Cardboard. Who are ‘they’ trying to kid with this?”
When somebody actually manages to bowl me over with honest ingredients that are deftly crafted to a fare-thee-well … it’s like the best blue bird ski morning, all sunshine, fresh breezes, perfectly groomed new snow and a perfectly silly look of grinning bliss on my mug.
Former colleague, Albert, called this morning insisting that I stop by my former office to pickup some goodies direct from Terry and Cindy at Fresh Bite, in Berkeley. They’d had their first tasting on Thursday last, and damn but I missed it. Not to worry … apparently I have delivery service.

I simply can’t find a damn thing wrong with this. I kid you not.
