With the many fake programs that try to convince people to download official-looking updates, it’s often hard for a non-expert computer user to know what is safe to accept and install, and what is not.

My system had been running super slow, even though the system itself had plenty of hard drive space available. However, some programs such as MS Outlook and Adobe Photoshop Elements 6.0 take a LOT of RAM. This was causing major headaches - I mean serious headbanging when I had more than one program open. I was about to get rid of Photoshop Elements for all the error messages back to the Mothership. Little did I know how simple the fix was.
