    Cementing international goodwill one yard job at a time

    This is classic male bonding at its best …. fixing the busted sprinkler head. Why, oh why do people insist on trying to connect plastic and metal? It only took about 2 hours and 3 trips to Home Depot before they got it fixed. Then, of course naps had to be taken.

    The Mayor of Cotonou visits Lac Tahoe

    Natacha had to work today and tomorrow at the hospital, so Mr. Maven and I decided this would be a delightful opportunity to drive Mr. Agbenou up to the Lake, do the visit to Sand Harbor, South Shore, come down Kingsbury into Minden and home through Carson City.

    Good eats translate family and understanding across the globe

    I was more than a bit apprehensive about what I was going to feed Mr. Agbenou when he got here from Benin, since Natacha told me that he was equally apprehensive about American food with too many additives and that might not be ‘fresh’. He also prefers fish for breakfast, which is one of my favorite meals and a no-brainer at home, but not commonly available in restaurants.
