Scientists create synthetic 'life'. Enormous potential for good.

This is an astounding proposition. What if you could create completely synthetic life in the laboratory?

And, from that create algae that would supply the world with a limitless amount of fuel - eliminating the need for fossil fuel, and eliminating global climate change due to CO2 emissions? How about food - the best food you’ve ever tasted, and healthy too - without any stress to the environment and without a single living thing being harmed or killed in the process?

What about an inexaustable basis for drugs that now require ‘natural’ substances that could be in short supply due to global climate change?

What about a cure for cancer?

Even better, this breakthrough could create the next American century of excellence - with plenty of jobs and a soaring economy - with a product that could save the world in the process.

Sound too good to be true? Maybe not. Dr. Craig Venter is the man who finally mapped the human genome. And a lot of top flight scientist agree that this could be the biggest single breakthrough in human history. Watch the full story on the Science Channel.
